“So honestly, We don’t focus too much on 3rd party metrics as they are just that; a collectively agreed upon metric that Google doesn’t use.
Much like mozrank or the trust and citation flow over on Majestic- We have found that although it could be a "signal” of quality, it doesn’t mean it actually is.
After all, high DA and PA links can still have Chinese anchors or  have been previously spammed as PBNs; those are the things we look out for more than anything else really.“
